Xie Jiulou has been the King of Hell for three hundred years.

The first time he saw Ti Deng in the underworld, he thought to himself:
This guy is good-looking. I want to keep him.

Over the past three hundred years, he has done everything he should and should not have done to the Ti Deng, leaving no part of his body untouched.

Except for two things: one is a jade ring, and the other is a pair of golden chopsticks. Both were given to Ti Deng by that man.

Later, one day, Xie Jiulou couldn’t help himself and secretly followed Ti Deng as he went out to chat with people on the street.

A man said, “Your jade ring is so beautiful.”

Ti Deng held up his hand and smiled. “A gift from an old friend.”

The man asked again, “What old friend?”

Ti Deng smiled once more. “You don’t know him.”

Xie Jiulou’s teeth itched with jealousy. Ti Deng was smiling so beautifully, as if that old friend were some precious secret, one he couldn’t bear to let outsiders know about.

Then he heard Ti Deng say: “His name is Xie Jiulou. He has been dead for many years.”
